Central Equipment

The Central Equipment Room hosts fifty-seven 36″ deep equipment racks to support all critical signal path routing processing and distribution.

A Trinix 512 x 512 HD SDI router, populated to 256 inputs by 448 outputs provides for HD SDI video throughout the facility, while an Apex 1024 x 1024 router provides for AES audio. A Concerto router is in place for all other signals such as 128 x 128 4:2:2 machine control, 64 x 64 time code, 128 x 128 analog composite video and 128 x 128 stereo analog audio.

All video and audio production switching and signal processing devices are housed in this area and remotely controlled from associated control rooms.

Power for all technical systems is provided from dual 150 KVA UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) and along with 50% of the studio’s lighting load and other critical functions, which are backed up by a 750 KVA diesel generator system. This system upon any utility power disruption, can be switched on-line within 10 seconds of the power failure.
