Production Studio
The Westlake Village Studios Feature Production Studio encompasses approximately 6000 square feet of net Production Area with a 21′ grid height. Studio Lighting Control consists of 380 individual lighting dimmers capable of delivering over 1.5 million watts of studio illumination. 30 overhead motorized winch systems will suspend a full complement of studio lighting fixtures. 150 Tons of Noise Controlled air conditioning will maintain studio air temperature control, with an audience capacity of up to 250.
The Studio is equipped with:
6 High Definition Studio Camera Systems and 2 High Definition Robotically Controlled Cameras. Camera support will include 2 Studio Pedestals, 1 Studio Jib Arm, and multi-display teleprompter system including 17″, 12″ and 8″ screens.
4 channels of RF IFB, 8- channels of RF microphones, and 6 channels of RF PL are standard compliment on the stage.
4 floor level an 6 grid level Studio Connection Panels capable of supporting 22 cameras, 96 microphone inputs, studio monitors, computers, teleprompters, telephones and computers. A Studio Public Address System, featuring a 64 input audio mixing console, provides for 5,500 watts of amplified sound to 6 Studio Speakers and Subwoofers.
Production Control Room 1
The Production Control room features a 3 tier set of consoles that will provide seating for 15 production personnel. Each seat is equipped with intercom, video/audio monitoring and local LAN production computer capability. Copy, Fax and Computer printer are located at the control room rear, along with a refreshment bar space.
The room’s monitor wall will support forty two 23″ HD Color Source Monitors, Two 42″ Preview and Pre-set Monitors and a 46″ Program Monitor. Each monitor is equipped with a 16 digit Source ID Talley Panel.
A full 6 channel (5.1) Audio Monitor system, equalized for room acoustics, provides for program and playback audio monitoring.
A 90 input, 96 output, 4 Mix/Effect High Definition GVG Kalypso Video Production Switcher, with integral, Multi-channel DVE and Still Store System will provide the Production Studio, Convention Center and Campus Remote location with the highest state of the art video production switching capability.
High Definition Character Generation and Graphics are provided via HD Deko, and integrated into the facilities Editing and Graphics development work stations.
Audio Control Room 1
The Audio Control Room features a 2 tier set of consoles that provides seating for 3 audio production personnel. Each seat is equipped with Intercom, Video/Audio Monitoring and local LAN production computer capability.
The room’s monitor wall supports sixteen 23″ HD Color Source Monitors, and two 32″ Preview and Program Monitors. Each monitor is equipped with a 16 digit Source ID Tally panel.
A Euphonics “System 5B” 96 input Digital Audio Production Console will provide multi track program audio mixing capabilities. A 32 channel back deck Digital Audio Console will provide special effect pre-mix and sound effect mixing via 2 discreet Digicarts. The back bench also contains a 48 track soft recorder along with a 10 line call in system.
A full 6 channel (5.1) Audio Monitor system, equalized for room acoustics, provides program and playback audio monitoring.
A host of digital audio production support equipment will round out the state of the art audio production capabilities of this room.
Media and Video Control
The Media and Video Control Room Space supports operational control for multi- channels of High Definition Video Filer Server Program Ingest recording and playback, Digital HD Video Tape Recording, Playback and Video Camera control for up to 10 HD Studio Cameras and 4 HD Robotic camera systems.
The HD Video File Server Systems will provide Ingest and Playback of Digital HD video and audio streams. This system will provide for 92 Streams of simultaneous HD Video along with 8 channels of Digital Audio. The shared storage is comprised of 54 Terabytes of Enterprise class storage and 54 Terabytes of near line storage. The total storage capacity is approximately equivalent to 450 hours of HD media.
Quality Assurance Video and Audio Monitoring stations located within the area, provides personnel with the ability to adjust and maintain the HD Digital Video to the highest of industry standards.
Audio Sweetening - Audio Control Room 2
To support Audio Pre-Production, Post Production, Sweetening and final Program Conforming, an Audio Sweetening Room is provided. This doubles as a second Audio Control Room. This second Audio Booth features a 2 tier set of consoles that will provide seating for 3 audio production personnel. Each seat will have intercom, video/audio monitoring and local LAN production computer capability.
The room’s monitor wall consists of twelve 23″ HD Color Source Monitors and a 42″ HD Program Monitor. Each monitor is equipped with a 16 digit Source ID Tally panel.
A Fairlight Constellation Audio Production Console provides for a 48 track workstation as well an 80 input by 32 output in-line console.
A full 6 channel (5.1) Audio Monitor system, equalized for room acoustics, will provide program and playback audio monitoring.
A host of digital audio production support equipment will round out the state of the art audio production capabilities of this room.
Master Control and Network Integration
The Westlake Village Studios Master Control Room will support multiple program streams of High Definition material, and will direct and monitor the release of those Program Broadcasts via Satellite, Fiber, Internet and the newest form of program distribution, Cell/Pod casting.
All technical operations in this room will be under the control of Crispin Automation which will permit the distribution of multiple streams of programming to be seamlessly “broadcast” to Cable, Satellite, Internet and Cell/Pod casting users. Master Control will also serve as the final point of Quality Assurance for Video and Audio Monitoring insuring that the network maintains the highest of industry standards for HD Digital Video and 5.1 Digital Audio.
